Recently, another composer has emerged in the realm of modern piano music—Anna Stasiuk, who clinched victory in a talent contest with her composition "Distant Dreams." This piece is now available for listening on various music platforms.

Anna Stasiuk, a graduate of the National Music Academy by P.I. Tchaikovsky, exhibited exceptional musical abilities and a dazzling piano technique from an early age. It was her grandmother who first recognized Anna’s fascination with various sounds, leading her to enroll in music school. Even as a five-month-old, Anna displayed her musical curiosity when she laughed and requested her grandmother to recreate the colorful sound of a metal spoon striking a pot while she was cooking lunch.

Though Anna’s journey into composition began relatively recently, she had previously indulged in arranging Ukrainian folk songs, presenting her rendition of the Ukrainian shchedrovka "Oh sivaya ta y zozulenka" at a pivotal exam in Polyphony, earning high praise.

Among Anna’s creative endeavors is her recent arrangement of the Ukrainian lullaby "Oh, the dream is coming," adding another significant piece to her repertoire.

"Distant Dreams," an independent composition penned by Anna in the summer of 2023, reflects her belief in the power of dreams to provide motivation in life. The piece exudes a light and delicate quality, transitioning from pastoral tones to chromatic melodies and soft yet vibrant harmonies. Its ethereal beginning gradually builds, capturing the essence of distant reverie. Anna’s compositions, including "Distant Dreams," are known for their accessibility and grace.
